In 1866 Mary Baker Eddy was restored to health through prayer alone,
after being close to death. As a result, she sought to discover and
understand Jesus’ healing method. After years of dedicated study
of the Bible, and of healing others herself, she wrote Science and
Health with Key to the Scriptures.
This book offers insights and practical tools for healing and personal

Mary Baker Eddy designated Science and Health, together with the Bible,
as the only pastor of our church because, she said “Personal
preaching has more or less of human views grafted into it. Whereas
the pure Word contains only the living health giving Truth”,
and the “Bible was my only textbook”, and “the Bible
contains the recipe for all healing”.
Both books are for sale in bookshops and Christian Science Reading Rooms
throughout the world and can be borrowed from public libraries.
Science and Health is available in 16 languages. Over nine
million copies have been sold.
