Our Sunday service is held at 11am, when we meet to worship God. We pray, sing hymns and listen to the sermon (the weekly Bible lesson), which is read aloud by two readers. It consists of selections from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Church members pray for and expect healing during the service. Our Sunday School is also held at 11am, where children and teenagers learn how God’s healing truths are available to them in daily life. Instruction is based on the Bible, particularly the teachings of Christ Jesus, and on the Christian Science textbook, with its key to understanding the Scriptures. On Wednesday we meet at 7:30pm to praise God for healings we’ve received. Our Church Manual says : ‘Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, “who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalm 103:3) ’. We also listen to readings from our pastor, pray and sing hymns. |
